Akaroa and Cleaning

Published by Arian Under New Zealand 2008

Hello,

Some minor modifications were made to the site. Feel free to send me your comments!

Here's an article in the boilerplate of the College of St. Rene Guy Cadou Brévin:

Article-in-mat-college-st-brevin.pdf

This weekend, a sore ankle has changed my original plans. This is only a postponement ... In any new situation, you have to adapt and make the positive moment! That's when the "village" of Akaroa carte.Ancienne appeared on the French colony, where the streets with French names (see: video), located east of Christchurch on the peninsula. This peninsula was formed by two volcanoes then eroded by the sea

I was fortunate in losing myself a little bit and taking dirt roads to meet with seals. A great birthday present! I could not expect better. In a small indentation of the coast, I could approach this small colony of about twenty seals. I have watched for over an hour sitting alone on my rock ... :)

Waste: The mountains are very clean with the guards ("Rangers" in English), but ditches around my house are "disgusting". I discovered this place running in the morning. This weekend, I took the opportunity to clean them ... at least a part: the 7km course I ran. Many cans, bottles and pastique empty cigarette packages (of course!) Polluted the small stream. Everyone should be "steward" of nature.

Meanwhile, here are a few minutes from New Zealand: (Music Franz Ferdinand)

National Park "Nelson Lakes"

Published by Arian Under New Zealand 2008

Hello,

THE PICTURES ARE ONLINE!!

I'm back from a nice hike in Nelson Lakes Park. This national park is located in the northern part of the South Island. It consists of several lakes and mountains covered with abundant vegetation.

The first day I got lost ... And so, oddly, I followed an old road, abandoned since 1994 ... and after 6 hours of walking, I followed most anything, except my compass! So a little night under the stars was a must ...
The next day, after much research a potential path, I turned back. The next day, everything went well!

Waste ... hmmm interesting question: I picked up 8, the only ones I've found. 2 packages of granola bars, a cigarette butt, a bandage, and 4 handkerchiefs. Yet I look under rocks to picnic places, and nothing at all ... it's very different from alps where I found a hundred minimum of waste per day. However, I have an idea in your head of why it is so clean ... Unlike France, environmental awareness is very present and active in parks and NZ in general. So maybe people are more careful. The second reason and probably the main explanation: park rangers clean! Each park has a team of "Rangers" (combining the functions of guide, the park manager and police) who patrol the park and very active ... I assume they clean the roads, while they maintain them. I have not checked my comments, but it will not take long ...

That's certainly the reason for the incredible cleanliness of mountains in New Zealand.

Here are some pictures of this hike. Birds are incredibly curious and interested in here. In the bush (Australia New Zealand word which means a place of dense vegetation), small birds followed me and approached me to within a meter ... sensations and encounters magical! I met a Belgian mountain, she was fascinated by my actions. it gave him the courage and the desire to strive for the planet too. Before, she complained of waste, has now, she will pick them up and continue to complain of unscrupulous people. Sweeper more!

I rack my brains to find still a structure better scenario for these short videos ... it will come!

I wish you all a great week.

As agreed, a short 7 minute video on this little journey in the mountains. Sorry for the quality of the video, I'm not very proficient in editing or file transfer by in good quality for the internet ... but I intend to improve as you!

The ducks you see in video are "blue duck", a native of New Zealand, but in danger because their habitat is steadily reduced.

In the mountains, I have only found two garbage!! Waouuu, incredible: a very old tin can and a plastic bottle, that's all! Remember the Alps .... oulalalalalala, it was to cry every day. Here it is not the case, at least on the part that I visited this weekend. The plastic bottle will be upgrading to pull the bobbin unfortunately is so oxidized that it is impossible!

Some questions for you:

  • the site appears well it does on your screens? no "Beug" or problem? (Technical difficulties lately)
  • You can easily view all the videos?
  • Does the video is acceptable in terms of quality, content and length?

Thank you for your answers, so I can improve it all!

Feel free to tell me the technical problems of presentation of the site, and if you-please, give me advice as to the videos (that you want to see? Details? Less talking shop?)

I wish you a great Sunday!
